About Coaching

Coaching can help you:

  • Clarify what you want to do

  • Respond to opportunities and challenges at work or home

  • Gain motivation to reach your goals

  • Get closer to your full potential

I've coached people on:

  • Job applications and interviews

  • Career choices and career changes

  • Getting voluntary work

  • Getting training

  • Work/life balance

  • Priorities and time management

  • Line management

  • Performance and relationships at work

  • Retirement and Redundancy

What happens at a coaching session?

  • Usually a 1 to 1 session of 1-1.5 hrs

  • You tell me what you want to achieve from the coaching

  • I ask questions and actively listen non-judgementally

  • I may challenge you and give you constructive feedback

  • I encourage you to reflect and learn from your experiences

  • I help you find solutions and explore the advantages of different options

  • I help to motivate you to carry out the actions

  • The sessions are confidential unless there is a risk to life or illegal issues

Coaching is not counselling or therapy.

Coaching is not being told what to do! It is based on the belief that most people have the answers themselves, but need the time and space to develop their ideas and sometimes help with confidence and motivation.

What Coaching is not
What do you need to do?
  • Make time for the sessions - I usually suggest 3 - 6 to start with

  • Carry out any follow up work between sessions

  • Be honest and open

  • Give constructive feedback to me on the coaching
